'What in the world..?' 'That's right, what in the world..?' 'We should hurry and grab some water buckets we can still stop the fire.' Mary spoke hurriedly. 'It's too late.' Jenna spoke in a final tone. 'But..' 'It's too late Mary, there is nothing left to save here, all the grains for this year is already burnt.' Natalia explained. 'That means we will go hungry..' Mary thought 'We will die.. Nat!' Mary exclaimed.  It was not that far from the truth, it was actually a very real possibility. Amarat was a country which doesn't had very much fertile lands. Most of the landmass included rocky mountains, steep cliffs, thousand years old rock and granite caves, the country had many mountains and suffered from frequent volcanic eruptions over a long period of time the forests and farming lands developed but still they were about 17% of the whole surface area that's the reason why food cultivation an...

Independence and dependence

You might be wondering why I named this post "Independence and Dependence." Well, today is August 15th—yeah, Happy Independence Day, India. Currently, half of India's population is independent, and does that half have a specific gender? Oh yes, absolutely! The male population of India really seems to be independent, but we can't say the same about the female population, especially regarding recent incidents. Oh, wait a minute, why am I saying "recent"? A word better suited is "what always happens here in India." I remember a few years back in Parliament, the current leadership party's female Members of Parliament were very upset that an opposition party leader had remarked India to be the capital of rape. They were livid at the remark, but today I have to say it's not wrong; your government has literally made it a fact. This is a fact: women's security is an illusion. Nobody cares if a woman dies in the most brutal way. Literally, she d...

HAPPIEST DAY IN INDIA

Image
22 January 2024 aka "The happiest day of India" you may ask the reason for this happiness.. but it'll be quite hard to explain the history of five hundred years in few words.. It's the awaited happiness of 500 years, we waited, we faught, we built, we won..  It wouldn't be wrong to say this day is one of the most significant day of Indian history, and that's not because of the religious elements.. that only makes the half of it, The most significant part of this celebration is India recognising India, India embracing India, embracing the culture, embracing the history, embracing all the minor cultural details we used to brush aside as if it's not the most important or logical things, it's not rocket science, or western lifestyle or technology to fawn over..  It would have been a dream come true for legends like "Shri Arubindo" who raised his concern for India against becoming a westernised version of itself. Witnessing this event ...

Beheading : Chapter 2

Image
There was a sharp sound like a stick hitting someone's back of a hand, followed by "Ahhh."  "You killed a priest!!?" A voice roared. "No, we didn't master..." a pitiful voice answered. "Then what do you mean by silencing him?" He asked again, feigning composure though his composure had left him long ago. The three of them were scared; no one wanted to open their mouths and retell the events that had happened to their master because they were sure he wouldn't be too pleased with the turn of events, their bruised knuckles were proof of that, but when he raised the stick, again Jenna had to speak up. "We just took his eyes." She whispered with her eyes closed and looking downwards. "What!?" He raised the stick again, but seeing him distracted with shock, Jenna was quick to draw her hands back, exclaiming, "Not permanently! I'm sorry, master, but it had to be done. He could have become a witness, h...

Soul-cry

Image
My words are not even mine,  It's the sound of my soul crying..  My voice don't sound divine,  My soul is dying, it's praying and crying.. End of him would be end of mine..  This is my last chance,  I would give it my all..  Pray to any lord..  This fear is choking my nerves..  This dagger is stuck in my heart.  I would be freed with each breath he breaths.. happy with an embrace,  Immortal with a kiss..  I have reasons to believe he holds my life in his grip, and the fact doesn't scare me though, It gives a sweet relief.

Angels & Sinners

Image
"This show needs a miracle!" exclaimed Melanie, dropping the folders on the table. "Angels & Sinners" was printed on one of the folders in cursive writing. "Why? What happened?" I asked, moving my head away from the papers laying across my table and focusing on her form. Her shoulders slumped in exhaustion. Seating herself down on one of the chairs, she started her rant: "The ratings are going down at an incredible speed. People aren't really interested in watching this show anymore, and half of them don't even understand it. They say it's too complicated, too slow, it's boring, and the name—oh god, apparently Angels and Sinners feels too religious and historical. People think it's a preaching show!" she exclaimed, hitting her head on the table, this girl... "You need to calm down. At this rate, you'll wear yourself out," I said, patting her head. "And that's the last thing you want if yo...

Harem

Image
Rania, Gulestan, Noorjan, and Maryam were all present at the harem of Qasr Jamil for a very special occasion: it was time for the King to choose a wife, and all the most beautiful, eligible, and wealthy women from the kingdom, as well as from the neighboring countries, were there. Being the wife of Sultan Iman Hazar Khan was the biggest title a woman could hold at that time; even being his concubine would be a strong enough title in itself. But the man had never taken a wife, much less a concubine. A big reason behind that could be that he had spent very little time inside his lavish palace since he was crowned King. Much of his time was spent outside the city gates, at the battlefield, because any time a young king assumes his position on the throne, it always causes uproar around him. In Al Dunya Sultanate, the killing of brothers was common in order to secure the throne. But in this case, there were no immediate successors fighting for their rights, only some distant rel...
