Burn
I don't want to talk about this topic.. because I don't like to talk about dumb stuff! and you can even check it on here, I talk about life, spirituality, some science, inspirational quotes, poetry or heart stuff here and there, But alas here we are.. you know nobody genuinely wants to talk about politics, because talking about politics is like getting your hands dirty.
You won't even be heard, unless you are a comedian, they really have a good knack of talking about political stuff, these days. They do more politics, than some of the politicians themselves. But since I can't even do comedy, these are really untouched waters for me, but I'm gonna say what I want to say, because I'm frustated at this point.
I can't believe how people can be so dumb.. so, so.. dumb yesterday we watched a match - yes, I'm talking about that! A very specific India / pakistan match that surprisingly didn't went in India's favour. We all Indians have seen it, felt it and proceeded to forget about it immediately like it's common sense that's what you do, when you lose a fight..
First and foremost, you don't bring it up ever again, if you are an average person. But if you are a bit more mature, then perhaps you try to learn from your mistake, and try to never make the same mistake again. That's what we normally do..
But what is happening right now is neither normal nor mature ; it's childish. Now we are pointing fingers, throwing tantrums and making indigestable memes, with no regards towards A.R. Rahman who has been singing "Take it easy policy.." for such a long time that's what he is trying to say listen to that song and do take it easy, India..
Because are we really going to do this bickering back and forth, really? Now I know Sharma uncle is yelling "Hell yess!" from his balcony, but we really need to reconcinder this, India. What about being the bigger person, huh?
But to be honest, we can't really blame Sharma ji, because even though this whole bickering thing sound childish, looks childish, and is childish, he is not the only one who has been doing this. Literally, the whole media hasn't stopped for a second covering this topic like it's the most breaking news ever. I mean, I was happily going to forget that tomorrow happened but they keep bringing it up.
And don't get me started on the headlines, please don't; they are so ridiculous they have actually surpassed all the levels of being ridiculous! News channels have become drama centrals. I mean, the Indian daily sop's were already killing us; now they are at it too! we don't need more drama we already had too much of it! But ofcourse they are gaining the TRP; that's all they care about : how to make profit from people's emotions. And as we Indians are already so emotional, we give it to them in huge numbers - the money, people the money!
I mean, what's their point anyway, the media is irked because Pakistan is celebrating their victory like let them... Let them celebrate! they don't get much chance to do it anyway. Now ones in a blue moon and in this case, Eid's moon, they get the chance to celebrate. Let them celebrate because quite frankly if it had been the other way around, I mean, Indian team winning the match. We sure as heck were going to celebrate double than what they have been doing. Parties were already planned from 25th October till Diwali; our guys were going to party all night.. now, this turn of events have them cancelling their plans; that's why they are mad. I knew it!
And my point is that we can't judge them for celebrating; it's almost traditional. We understand the excitement, so that shouldn't be an issue. Now, the other thing that indian media, politicians, famous people with money and cricketers with political careers are hating is, 'Why did some Indians celebrated for Pakistan's winning? Why did Kashmiri's celebrated pak's win?' it's a burning question.
Now, I must admit they outdid it with the whole showering flowers on the TV screen thing; they outdid it there. I mean, can you imagine how much pressure a normal Television of India and Pakistan has to go through, whenever there is an India - pakistan match?. Because that TV can either end up beaten till murdered, or showered with flowers - like the two extremes nothing in between.. God bless our Televisions they are really innocent there.. it's not there fault that we mix sports and politics together.
Like, there is nothing wrong with being happy for the winning team, from a cricket fans perspective, there's nothing wrong with loving Rizwan's or Afridi's performance yesterday, nothing. But as I said, it's the trick of perception. Like, it's not Newzealand or Australia, so we can appreciate both team's players openly. No, this is india - pakistan; the rivalry is bigger than the sport. But don't worry, my friend I'm here to help you out. We can still love them secretly or not-so-secretly just like we love "Atif Aslam." What? I can't lie; he is my favourite singer, up there on the list with Arijit..
But it's really tragic and disappointing. Why Can't we openly say "I support indian team and I also appreciate Pakistani team; they played well" like how hard is it to say that? be nice we can do this - choosing to upgrade from the level of childishness.
But I do see what the problem is here : the BCCI, the political players. They can't accept it because it's not serving their agenda. You know why Kashmiri's suddenly started loving cricket so much..? Because those fraudulent people made Cricket a political tool. Yes, Indian cricket is nothing more than a political tool nowdays; they have branded cricket in such a way. I mean, you can see it for yourself : from the past weeks, even months, all the TV shows, ads, all the social media what darn point were they making? A mockery of Pakistan and Pakistan's cricket team, and they really, really, enjoyed doing that.
And it wasn't just to catch public attention; I mean, public attention was already there. How can it not be? when it's an India pakistan match? Those Ads, banners, posters, shows in Dubai were not necessary, but there they were, plenty in numbers why? For profit honey for profit.
Because they have successfully, through years of determination, made India/ Pakistan cricket match bigger than the Cricket itself, and it's the simple truth. Billions of people watch India - pakistan match, even those who are not so much into cricket, because of the hype, the production, the unnecessary slightly offensive ads yes, for all that. And an unsatiated hunger for drama in our people, and how they have used all these in their favour. I bet Mr. Sharma hadn't thought about that neither did we..
The only one who is at fault here, are these people who made the rivalry so big just for their own profit. And if you provide this kind of toolkit of cricket, which churns the emotional well-being of our people, and sensitive and delicate threads of politics - yes, there you have it : a renowned weapon. And they are directly putting it, in the hands of those who definitely don't want peace, so ofcourse they are going to take advantage of it in any way, shape, or form.
They can, even if it requires some fire crackers or flowers on TV screens, they will do it. It was expected of them. The act did cause the same harm those stones used to cause, so the effect is very much there thanks to those who have made Indian Cricket a political tool.
